Please join us SUNDAY, MAY 20, 2012 leaving at 10:00 AM for the 3rd annual "Can You See Me Now" motorcycle awareness ride. The idea and development of the Worldwide Ride was founded here in Phoenix. "Can You See Me Now" is the local segment of a world wide event as part of the Meet Up.com motorcycle riding network.
Each year thousands of riders across Arizona, the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia have participated on this same day. We hope that you can take a part of your day and join us for this symbolic cause for motorcyclist safety.
Arizona Governor Jan Brewer recently signed a proclamation making the month of May, ARIZONA MOTORCYCLE SAFETY AND AWARENESS MONTH! All riders know that more needs to be done to raise motorists awareness to the thousands of motorcycles sharing U.S. roads and highways each year. Communities across the nation experience crashes resulting in serious rider injury or fatality due to inattentive, careless or unaware drivers. In fact, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, in 2008, 47 percent of all motorcycles involved in fatal crashes collided with another type of motor vehicle.
As a rider, everytime you have thrown that leg across the saddle and head out, you get first hand knowledge of how so many drivers are simply not paying attention. This ride is about getting out there and being as visible as you can. All we ask is that at least a few drivers will get the message.
THIS RIDE IS OPEN TO ANY AND ALL MOTORCYCLE RIDING INDIVIDUALS, CLUBS, AND GROUPS.
